Will It Hurt to Go to the Dentist?
I can assure you that most of your child’s visits to my office will be pleasant.

In fact, children who visit my office often have a pleasant experience.  The key is helping your child maintain strong and healthy teeth by flossing and brushing daily.  If you take these preventive measures, chances are your child will only need to visit me for semi-annual cleanings.

I have a variety of tools that make visits to my office pleasant and fun for when your child is having a regular checkup, teeth cleaning, or even having a cavity filled.  I use a numbing medication to make procedures as comfortable as possible.  I will apply these numbing medications for children who have teeth sensitivity (sensitivity to cold and hot drinks), for children who have cavities taken out, and teeth fillings.  That way when I have to operate your child will not feel a thing![1]

How to Overcome Anxiety
Some children experience feelings of anxiety during their first visit with a dentist.  Rest assured because your child will have a fun and pleasant time in my office.  I will talk to your child and you, and I will break down any fears that you may have.  For example, some children experience fear due to preconceived notions about visiting the dentist, and the smell and sounds of dental tools.

Here are some of my recommendations for your child’s first big day:
